In 1989, after studying foreign languages and then at the Institute of Business Administration, Sylvie Cazes joined her brother Jean-Michel Cazes in the group comprising the properties of AXA-Millésimes (including Château Pichon-Longueville) and those of the Cazes family (including Château Lynch-Bages). For 20 years, alongside her brother, she was responsible for the group's communications and the development of its wine tourism activities.
President of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux from 2008 to 2013, she joined Alain Juppé's municipal team from 2008 to 2014. Working alongside him, she oversaw the creation of a major cultural facility, a place of discovery and exchange, illustrating the diversity and richness of wine civilisations: La Cité du Vin, inaugurated on 31 May 2016.
She is now president of the Foundation for Wine Culture and Civilisations, which manages La Cité du Vin.
In 2011, after completing an Executive MBA at HEC Paris, Sylvie Cazes became chair of the supervisory board of the family estates (including Lynch Bages), a position she still holds today.
Since 2011, she has been developing the Bordeaux Saveurs agency, which specialises in tailor-made holidays in wine-growing regions. She also took over the Chapon Fin restaurant, a Bordeaux gastronomic institution, now run by her son, François Régimbeau.
In May 2014, Sylvie and her three children acquired Château Chauvin, a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé. This beautiful 17.5-hectare estate, located in the north-western part of Saint-Emilion, is now run by her daughter Julie Régimbeau.
Since May 2024, Sylvie Cazes has been president of the Crus Classés de Saint-Emilion.
