The Buffet of the Five Senses
Smell, touch, look and let your senses surprise you
Drinking wine is an art that involves all your senses: admire its colour, enjoy its aromas, appreciate the sensations it procures on the palate, listen to the “pop” of the cork…
It is an experience that involves sight, smell, touch, taste and even hearing, an experience that will awaken memories, emotions and the imagination. There’s no need to be an experienced oenologist to appreciate the diversity and richness of wines… All you need is a nose and a mouth!
This section of the Permanent Exhibition is designed for everybody, from beginners to specialists, and is a favourite with families!
It is composed of two tables: one dedicated to red wines and the other to white wines. At each table, have fun exploring the aromas, colours and textures of wine. Play with its many colours. Plunge your nose into the mystery bell covers to identify sometimes surprising aromas. Discover the many textures of wine. By dialoguing with an unexpected character you will uncover all the secrets of your senses: did you know that you can also detect aromas through your mouth?
Wine is part of the pleasure of dining, especially when you try to pair food and wine according to your tastes. Experiment and have fun composing your own menu by selecting meals and wines in a game that will teach you tricks of the trade to match your meals with your wines.
Book your visit to the Permanent Exhibition and let yourself be guided by your senses in an exploration that will awake your passion for wine! With a little practice, you will be able to recognise aromas or define tannins.
