A photographic journey through the wine regions of the world

In this exhibition, discover the richness and diversity of the world's vineyards through an artistic journey!

Each partner was invited to select an image representing its wine-growing identity. The photographs brought together here offer unique perspectives on their terroir: they express an authentic vision, a fragment of everyday life, an ancestral gesture or an emotion deeply rooted in the wine-growing tradition of each region.

The exhibition aims to highlight the deep relationship between vineyards and their environment: the link between humans and vines, the way in which the wine-growing landscape fits into its territory, between nature, culture and heritage. Conceived as a sensory journey, ‘Around the world in 50 wine regions’ offers a collective, sensitive and demanding narrative, where each photograph becomes a gateway to a unique wine-growing world.

Honour our wine region partners

Since its creation, the Foundation for Wine Culture and Civilisations has been committed to introducing visitors to the Cité du Vin to the richness and diversity of wine around the world. To this end, it has initiated a partnership programme with organisations, inter-professional bodies, chambers of commerce and regional associations in all four corners of the globe.

To date, around fifty wine partners from the Bordeaux region, other French regions and five continents have chosen to join us. They are committed to providing a selection of ambassador wines.

Carefully chosen, these wines reflect the diversity and quality of their wine-producing regions. Each year, nearly 50,000 bottles donated by our wine-producing partners are tasted by our 400,000 visitors.

It is thanks to them that our visitors can taste wines from all over the world, at the Belvédère, on the Via Sensoria sensory tasting journey, during tasting workshops or at our festive events.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Cité du Vin, we wanted to celebrate the diversity of wine civilisations, which have shaped our relationship with the world for centuries, and reaffirm the openness that drives us, at a time when international tensions too often push societies into isolation.

Quote from Philippe Hernandez, directeur de la programmation culturelle et du développement.

This exhibition is organised by the Foundation for Wine Culture and Civilisation with the invaluable collaboration of our wine-producing partners.
